11:59 on December 31, and I am resolute, which is not quite the same thing as having resolutions.

Uwavering is part of the definition of resolute, according to Dictioary.com. Resolute, unwavering: Those things, I think, are a part of who one is for good or, as the case may be, for ill; thus they're different than the commitments one makes, or tries so painfully to make, at the beginning of a year. Ah, but I may have some of those too, though... and coming up in a bit here is Evening Nigh's Year in Reflection 2.
